Home Made Pizza Dough From The Bread Machine

Gosh I hope everyone had a great week.  My ended kinda bad, but you know when God closes one door he opens another and I believe that is true.  Some of you know that I got laid off on Friday from a job I worked at for ten years.  It was a great run and now it is time to move on.  In the next couple of months, I intend to go back to school for either culinary arts or to improve my office skills.    Enough said about that....

Now on to a great Pizza Dough recipe you can make and keep in the freezer and pull out whenever you want homemade pizza.  It is much cheaper to make at home and very EASY !!!

This recipe is from my FAVORITE  all time bread machine cookbook, The Better Homes and Gardens Bread Machine Cookbook.  I got this book from the library and  did not want to take it back.  So I copied my favorite recipes so I could have them and I have taken the book out many, many more times.  I would buy the book but it is out of print......

So here's the recipe with my additions.

Pizza Dough
Adapted from The Better Homes and Gardens Bread Machine Cookbook

Makes 2 13 to 14 inch pizza crusts

1 1/3 cups water
2 tablespoons olive oil or cooking oil
4 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 teaspoons yeast
4 teaspoons vital wheat gluten

Add all ingredients to the machine according to manufacturer's directions.  Choose dough cycle.  When cycle is finished remove dough from machine. Punch down, cover and let rest 10 minutes.

Now you can use now or freeze for later.  I usually make 2 times this recipe ( with two machines running ) so I get 4 crusts to bag up to freeze.

Just divide the dough in half make into a ball and place in a freezer zippy bag, I have a food saver so I vacuum seal mine.  Freeze for up to 3 or 4 months.  To be honest  I have had some in the freezer for 6 months and it has been fine.

Just take out in the morning and place in the fridge to thaw out overnight.

Here is a picture of a pizza we made just recently with leftovers in the fridge.

This is a BBQ Chicken and Red Onion Pizza, oh my YUM !!!
I actually cooked this on the grill even YUMMIER !!!!

Here is a sample of my of my frozen pizza dough all packaged up.

So if you love pizza, make it at home !!!!

Thanks again so much for following The Bread Fairy on Face Book and Google Friend Connect.  I have reach 400 followers on Face Book.  I would like to thank all my food blogging friends, you guys and ladies are the bestest.

Thanks

Denise
